A 3-minute swearing-in ceremony took place on Saturday, January 17 at the Raleigh membership meeting in Raleigh. All members were invited to participate. The oath of office was administered by IBT Geneal Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hall after which he addressed the Local 391.
President McGaha and his team won re-election in October by a 64%-36% margin. For the next 3 years, McGaha will continue as President, Vernon Gammon will serve as Secretary-Treasurer and Rick Armstrong is elevated to the position of Vice President. Rachel Eitzen continues as the Recording Secretary for Local 391. All four officers also serve in the roles of Business Agents representing members.
Local 391 also welcomes new Business Agent Jody Whitlock, who will focus on freight barns, as well as Dave Foley, who was officially voted in as a Business Agent after taking over for retiring Paris Ware in the summer. Business Agent Keith McCorkle also sheds the "assistant" title in 2015 after being elected to his post.
Business Agents Wayne Gibbs and Chris Vaughn continue in their positions, along with Organizer Moses Darden. Local 391 also welcomes back Trustees Karen Matthews, JoCarolyn Wilkins, and Jimmy George.
