Local 391's fight to keep Miller Brewing in Eden has gotten media coverage across North Carolina. |

Local 391, along with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, sent a letter to Miller Brewing's director of labor relations last week asking for documentation as to why the company in Eden would choose to close one of its most profitable plant facilities in the Miller Coors fleet, questions many are asking in the Rockingham County community and across the state.
"We felt it was necessary to demand an answer to the one question we all have," said Local 391 President Mike McGaha. "It doesn't take an MBA from Harvard to figure out that a profitable plant should remain open, especially a plant like Eden's in which our members have won awards, have exclusive brewing assignments and make the company money."
The letter is addressed to Mr. Doug Heckler, dated September 21, and signed by David W. Laughton, Director of the Brewery & Soft Drinks Conference. You can read the letter by clicking the attachment below.
WFMY visited with Local 391 Secretary-Treasurer Vernon Gammon after the letter was sent. You can see news coverage of their interview with Gammon here.
